Selection procedure for SBI CBO Post

There will total 2 rounds of selection in SBI for recruitment of CBO. The first round is known as an online examination which will conducted on a computer at various centers. Candidates will provided 120 minutes to complete a total of 120 objective-type questions.

It will include questions in the English language, Banking knowledge, general awareness of Economics, and computer knowledge. After conducting objective-type questions, candidates have to appear in the descriptive examination immediately where they will get a total of 30 minutes to complete two questions of 50 marks.

Candidates have to type descriptive answers to these questions and after that, their examination will over. All the candidates who get good marks according to the merit list in the online examination will called for the interview round and after completing the interview, the final merit list will released by the State Bank of India which will include marks of online Computer-based tests and marks in the interview. 

SBI CBO Salary 2023-24

As per the official SBI CBO Notification 2023-24, the initial salary of a “Circle Based Officials” (CBOs) will in the scale of JMGS-I (36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2- 49910-1990/7- 63840), at the start of the scale i.e. Rs. 36,000/- plus one increment for each completed year of service rendered in officer cadre in the Scheduled Commercial Bank and Regional Rural Bank.

The official will also eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisitions as per rules in force from time to time.

SBI CBO Career Path

After joining, the selected candidates will designated as “Circle Based Officials” (CBOs) and will on probation for a period of 6 months. The CBOs will subjected to continual assessment during the probation period for judging their suitability for confirmation. The candidates who qualify in their evaluation as per standards determined by the Bank from time to time will confirmed in the service of the Bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). If any candidate fails to achieve the minimum standards prescribed, his/her services may terminated as per the policy of the Bank in force at the material time.

The selected officers will in the general cadre and will governed by the promotion policy applicable for the Bank’s general cadre officers. The selected candidates will not entitled to inner-circle transfer up to his / her promotion to SMGS-IV Grade OR 12 years of service, whichever is later.
